Temps et tant d’amour
is
a cross between music theatre and a one-man cabaret. Through the great
popular French repertory of such luminaries as Brel, Brassens,
Trénet,
Aznavour, Ferré and Ferrat, Oertel sings the story of a
man and his loves -- past, present, and future. The show has been
performed throughout France since its premiere in 2002.
On the Sunny Side: An
Outrageous Cabaret is composed of songs from the 30s and 40s by
such luminaries as the Gershwins, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern,
Irving Berlin and Rodgers and Hart. Oertel camps, vamps, chants, and
dances his way through these tunes. It has been performed in
France, Germany, and Denmark as well as at the Denver Center for the
Performing Arts.
Beatles Buffet
is
a "tour de chant" of well known standards by the Beatles performed by
Paul Oertel. Songs range from All
You Need is Love to Imagine.
Envolée is
a
contemporary dance choreographed by Nancy Spanier performed by Nadia
Adame and Mark Swetz, founders of y
espacio creativo artes based in
Madrid. It is a love duet between a disabled and an able bodied
dancer. The piece is a tribute to how the human spirit can
manifest no matter what the physical circumstances. |
