One’s own
body is the site of identity......Nancy Spanier
My films are visual tone poems.
Videodance allows me to invent in new ways that inspire my
choreographic sensibilities. I am interested in how the human body
interacts with ancient and sacred sites set in lush and exquisite
nature. I work collaboratively and improvisationally with the dancer to
capture the essential spirit of each site. All of my films have been
shot on location in southwestern France.
Flesh Sites focuses on the nude male body responding
to
such sites as a prehistoric cave dating back 30,000 years with
bas-reliefs, a 10th century pigeonnier, an 11th century abbey ruin, and
a 12th century chateau ruin.
Echos, esprits et traces dans l’ancien hospice de
Hautefort
is a docudance, cinematic voyage through a museum of medicine housed in
a 17th century hospital.
Once Before A Time is a poetic fairy tale featuring
an 11
year old child who goes on a vision quest to rediscover her equilibrium
after the loss of her mother. |
